S.P. Monahan and Alexander Sage Oyen first collaborated in 2014, working on Little Mac, Little Mac, You're the Very Man! at The Kraine Theater, for which Alex wrote the music and S.P. co-wrote the book and lyrics with James Presson. Since then, S.P. and Alex have worked together many times and in various capacities. S.P. has performed Alex's music at 54 Below, Lincoln Center, Le Poisson Rouge, and on other stages in New York.


S.P. and Alex's writing projects include DIVA: Live From Hell, which had its world premiere production at Theater for the New City in Spring 2017, under the direction of Daniel Goldstein, and Tyrants, which was developed by Goodspeed Musicals in a residency at the Johnny Mercer Writers Colony.
